Split cassette between two Swedish black metal bands; Blodulv and Ask
Blodulv:
Blodulv is a mid-paced black metal act from Uddevalla. For the most part Blodulv seem to draw influences from Gorgoroths first two or three releases, maybe a tint or slightest trace/tone from Darkthrones third, fourth, and fifth, and then in certain melancholy, meandering, slow melodies that fill out the background in their songs they might or might not be flaunting a resonating reference to Burzum.
Aska:
Aska from Malmo shows that they have improved since their debut demo, Förintelserhymner, released a year earlier. The guitars have a strange rotary-style effect and it creates a very macabre, threatening atmosphere, which thankfully is the majority of the time. The vocals are the only average thing about Aska’s sound. They are the usual slightly distorted vocals. Luckily, there aren’t too many vocal sections and they aren’t too high in the mix and blend in with the guitars somewhat when they do feature, which is personally how I like my distorted vocals.
