Agents Of Fortune 1976
Up to this point BOC had several good releases, but this was the first time they put it all together on one disc. Dont Fear The Reaper certainly put them into the spotlight and this was the beginning of the years that saw them at the fore-front of hard rock. Some of the best songs here are Tattoo Vampire, Revenge Of Vera Gemini, Sinful Love and, of course, Don’t Fear The Reaper. This was Blue Oyster Cults masterpiece.

Spectres 1977
Agents Of Fortune put Blue Oyster Cult in the spootlight and the follow up Spectres would become their best selling album. Some people find this album too slickly produced or pop-oriented. I disagree. Sure, it does have slicker production than their earlier albums and it does follow a more pop music direction. But I think in this case, it works in their favor. It features hardrocking classics such as Godzilla, R.U. Ready 2 Rock, Going Through The Motions (co written by Ian Hunter). What made BOC so special is that all five membres were talented songwriters therefore they never fell into a one-dimensional rut like most bands do. Critics often talks about their first four album but they really should take about the fifth album Spectres as well. It was a big seller and its slick but the tunes on here is great from start to finish. Long live the Cult
