Are they a rock band, or a blues/rock band or a blues band. Could they be leaning to a touch of soulful ballads. In fact, they are all of the above. With such an expressive voice that Elin is blessed with, she could sing just about any style. Under the layers of heavy psychedelic blues-rock the core of Blues Pills has always been the restless search for change. Change in the human mind and the musical influences they embraced themselves with, from blackened soul to the trippy rides through 60s garage rock music and the devils blues. When you put this all together, you have a bunch of musicians that can play anything that they choose. To me,that speaks volumes of how good they all are. There are a couple of tracks that you could describe as gentle ballads. Do not let that fool you, this is a powerhouse rock album. During their break, Blues Pills has been through some kind of reincarnation. A reincarnation that lead to the new self-produced and recorded album Holy Moly mixed by Grammy Award winning Andrew Scheps
