The Dutch metallic hardcore groove machines fifth album ‘Survival’ was released in 2008. On this album the band have avoided the death metal tinged growl by Che Snelting for a more hardcore shooting by Rob Franssen. The music still remains the same, maybe even sounds fresher than on the first couple of albums one just need to accept this change in vocals, or keep away from this album. Almost by the book, ‘Survival’ is logical continuation of previous record, two years older ‘War’. Without mentioned prejudice about vocal style, it is even hard to decide which of those album got better quality. ‘Sons Of A Dying World’ is definitely the song that differs from rest of the album. It’s mid-tempo, melodic, catchy tune. On the other hand, it’s also very serious and tragic song. ‘The Hydra’ also jump up from rest of the songs, for its powerful groove; actually, you could say the same for ‘Sound Of Survival’ and ‘Zero Hour’. Melody from ‘Under False Flag’s’ chorus is very reminiscent of Fear Factory. ‘Final Collapse’ starts with some scary political speeches, and continues with previous album’s Renewal-type rhythm.
