Description

Broken Dagger was a Swedish power metal act formed in Hjärup in Skåne, Sweden under the odd name of Världens Största Träd (Worlds Largest Tree) in 2000. The band changed name to Broken Dagger in 2002 and released two demos that lead up to a record deal. The band then released their one and only album, Chain Of Command in 2007. Symphonic power metal mixed with progressive elements and an atmospheric touch. They are also adding mellotron and cello to give it a folk metal touch. The album starts really good with the opening tune, An Unwanted Child. It is followed by the dark instrumental track The Black Lotus. After that the album takes a downward spiral and things starts to crack at the seams. The production doesnt help and the band called it a day after the album. They were still in their early 20s and things would improve. Most of the members would be part of the Folkearth folk metal project for several years and singer Niklas Olausson would go on to Veritate.
