Description

Black vinyl. Limited 500 copies

This is a vary rare recording from the Mk-II line-up with Pete Boot on drums. This was recorded at The Marquee Club in London on the 11th of February 1974 during the bands “Never Turn Your Back On A Friend” tour with a new and up coming band named Judas Priest as support act. This audience recording is excellent for the era in which it was made and the concert captures Budgie while they were still developing songs for their next album, ‘In For The Kill’. In particular, Hammer and Tongs is still very much in it’s infancy – just a very basic 12 bar riff. ‘Breadfan’ and ‘Parents’ are the standout tracks for me, but hey – aren’t they everyone’s favourites! The line up at the time where Burke Shelly – Bass, Vocals, Tony Bourge – Guitar and Pete Boot – Drums, Percussion. This is among the earliest known live recordings besides their BBC live in concert 1972 release. Its also extra fun to hear that Judas Priest with the line up of Rob Halford – Vocals, K.K.Downing – Guitar, Ian Hill – Bass and John Hinch – Drums are joining the band on stage on their encore Running From My Soul. There is also a bonus track from the Concert Hall in Orebro, Sweden from the 12th of September 1974
