The Cicada Tree is a heavy metal reference book. It has a groove and theres dIynamics everywhere. In the songwriting, the vocals, each individual instrument, the scope of the entire album….altogether dynamic, eclectic, and diverse, but somehow laser-focused within all that chaos. You might think a band with that much going on might sound disjointed, but not Byzantine. Every song has identity, and it has real heart. All of these guys are incredible musicians and songwriters, and now it seems that the whole picture has finally come together for them. So I hope the time finally has come for this band as they have been around for quite a while and after years of ups and downs, and near-misses, it’s time for more people to discover this band.
