Description

Death-metal icons Cannibal Corpse issued this very rare and limited-edition 96 page comic book sold only at the Rockstar Mayhem Festival US tour (The tour they did in July and August of 2009 with Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium, All That Remains, God Forbid, Behemoth, Job For A Cowboy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel). The comic book are drawn entirely by Vince Locke, who illustrated the acclaimed graphic novel ‘A History of Violence’ and each of the band’s album covers, the Evisceration Plague comic graphically depicts a story for every song on the band’s album of the same name—arranged in order, no less. As an added bonus, each copy comes with a copy of the album. The Magazine: “Vince Locke has done an incredible job turning our lyrics into blood-soaked and vicious illustrations for the Evisceration Plague comic book. He really has captured visually what we were trying convey lyrically. His artwork has brought our macabre songs to life in truly explicit fashion…fans of graphic horror will not be disappointed,” comments bassist and founding member Alex Webster. The 96 page comic is 50% colour, 50% black and white and drawn by comic artist Vincent Locke (A History of Violence, Batman, The Sandman, 2000 AD). With lines like ‘my mind is a cauldron of hate’ you can expect this comic to be rather brutal. The Album: Aided and abetted by guitarists Rob Barrett and Pat O'Brien, not to mention the unmistakable throat of Mr. Fisher, longtime Corpse members Webster and Mazurkiewicz dismembered and reassembled their latest monstrosity at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida, under the expert eye of Hate Eternal mastermind Erik Rutan. 'I think its the tightest and most musically competent record we've ever done,' Webster says. 'Not that the other ones weren't competent, but it would be hard to find flaw with the execution of this one; the performances are rock solid. Musically, the goal was to make cool, catchy songs that are just as brutal and heavy as any of the older, more obscure stuff we've done. Our mission is to be a Brutal Death Metal band, and if we get there by writing a technical song or a catchy groove song, that's fine, as long as its Brutal Death Metal at the end of the day.' Track listing: 1. Priests Of Sodom 2. Scalding Hail 3. To Decompose 4. A Cauldron Of Hate 5. Beheading And Burning 6. Evidence In The Furnace 7. Carnivorous Swarm 8. Evisceration Plague 9. Shatter Their Bones 10. Carrion Sculpted Entity 11. Unnatural 12. Skewered From Ear To Eye
