Description

Exclusive picture disc single released for Record Store Day 2014

One of the biggest moments in recent Metal history was the announcement of the return of Carcass, not just for a string of shows but into the studio. 1996’s Swawnsong marked the group’s fifth and then final full-length effort, but 2013 would see that fact change. That was the year when Carcass released their sixth studio album Surgical Steel. This split single includes an exclusive none vinyl track. The B-side features Glasgows brutal death metal heroes Cerebral Bore. When you split the difference between slam metal (Devourment, Cephalotripsy) and technical death metal, (Origin, Cephalic Carnage) you come up with Cerebral Bore. The mix of slams and grunts, with bass noodling and guitar spazzery, is a mixture of pure divinity. Like Dying Fetus without the non-growling vocals, Cerebral Bore is a band with good intentions and even better chops. These kids are pretty young and fronted by a girl (you would never know if I didn’t just tell you) named Som. The vocals are intense and pitch perfect, yes this lady can pig squeal with the best of them. The drums are tight and nicely varied, the guitars screech, squeal, chug, and sing as good as anything in the slam genre and almost as good as anything in the tech-death genre, and the bass is awesome, with palpable rhythms and runs. Strictly limited pressing – once its gone, its gone!

Track list:
1. Carcass – I Told You So (Corporate Rock Really Does Suck)
2. Cerebral Bore – Horrendous Acts of Iniquity
