Description

Limited green vinyl Often considered one of grindcore's founding fathers, Carcass were among the first bands of the extreme metal genre to try a different lyrical approach — one that reflected a fascination with surgical gadgets and peculiar words straight out of a med student's textbook. Hailing from the same locale that spawned the Fab Four — in case you've lived under a rock for the past few decades, Liverpool. Carcass started as Disattack playing hardcore punk at an early stage and as we all know, to those whom hardcore punk became too slack, founded the grindcore genre. Acts such as Napalm Death and Repulsion come to mind, but also Carcass, with their most disgusting debut of an album back in 1988, Reek of Putrefaction. Fermenting Birmingham was recorded live at the Barrel Organ in Birmingham, England on the 10th of July 1988. This is a very early live audience recording and one of the best quality shows from 1988. Most early recordings by Carcass are from 1989 and 1990 and the very cool thing about this show is that the track listing is all from their debut album Reek Of Putrefaction with the exception of one song played in advance of the release of Symphonies Of Sickness. A must have for any Carcass fan / worshippers of oldschool goregrind. Track listing: 1. Crepitating Bowel Erosion 2. Microwaved Uterogestation 3. Foeticide 4. Genital Grinder/ Regurgitation of Giblets 5. Oxidised Razor Masticator 6. Fermenting Innards 7. Burnt to a Crisp 8. Excreted Alive 9. Suppuration 10. Manifestation of Verrucose Uretha 11. Pungent Excruciation
