Carnage released one album, two demos and only played live 3 times in their lifespan but they still play an essential part in the Swedish death metal history. The music is first class death metal full of the down-tuned buzz saw riffs but the band would become most known for being comprised of members that would eventually go on to form the band, Dismember. However, Carnage would also showcase Micahel Amott, who would go on to join Carcass and Johan Liiva, who with Amott, would form Arch Enemy (and Spiritual Beggars). This album features the two demos, The Day Man Lost, Infestation Of Evil, rough mixes, outtakes and 6-tracks recorded live in Stockholm back in 1989. These recordings shows the gore-soaked roots of these Swedish Death Metal pioneers, seeing them shift from grinding, early Carcass-inspired extremity to the crushing Svensk Dödsmetall approach that led to the iconic full length Dark recollections, an absolute milestone in the genre.
