Carpathian Forest performs a unique, crazy and over the top black metal. The bloodthirsty assault of records like Fuck You All! is delicious and speaks to a band who were always at the top of their game. Of course now it’s been twelve years since their last release and time has made the heart grow fonder. So getting to sink my teeth into a new seven inch from these masters is truly magnificent. Its great to hear that the band have stayed true to their roots. Putting aside the fact that the band recorded an absolutely stellar cover of the Turbonegro classic All My Friends Are Dead, the original offering, the single Likeim is an absolute masterpiece, something that could sit proudly among the older tracks. Fun, bloodthirsty and wonderfully over the top, Carpathian Forest are back and ready to go for the throat. This is a black metal band who never cared what you thought of them and who were always willing to push things a little bit further. Likeim is just an appetizer for a lot of great music to come and the twisted and balls out majesty of this band is going to leave you with a smile on your face.
