Catalepsy was a Finnish thrash metal band that started in Turku back in 1989. The trio of Mika Laaksonen on drums, Tero-Petri Suovanen on guitar and Petteri Eeva on vocals and bass debuted in 1990 with Why, a two track vinyl single that had been recorded at the KC Sound studio in February of 1990. The same trio found themselves back in the same studio almost a year later when the band in January of 1991 made a studio session that would result in the 4-track 12 EP Scream. For the artwork to Scream the band got the permission to use Edvard Munch famous painting The Scream. The band would manage to release a third and final vinyl single called Digital Time in 1992 before they called it a day. The band had added a second guitarist in Mikko Mensonen before the recording of Digital Time. All three releases were self financed private pressings and have become hard to find and much sought after by underground thrash metal seekers event though the bands speed metal music plays in the second league
