Description

Black vinyl with gatefold cover.

Musically, Church Of Misery continues to reinvent themselves while keeping with the same murderer-inspired imagery and inspiration. Most notable about And Then There Where None is the discernible vocals, so I’ll begin with a criticism. I felt like past Church Of Misery vocals added an essential art-element to the overall sound which is lost in this album. You can understand every heinous word now which makes it a bit cheesy in my opinion. I always admired the unorganized psychopathic approach (speaking about singing of course). The overall sound is quite hitting, with all the hooks and grooves fully intact, if not more-blues driven than their past efforts especially the riff on track #2 (gotta love the cowbell) Riffage-wise, this is a 5-star. I cannot even begin to explain how this album does totally crush so I am going to stop typing. For any fan, I say without hesitancy to pick this up and form your own opinion, because fans know this band does not disappoint. The tribute to Tommy Lynn Sells, which is 8 and a half minutes of sobering, debilitating, unadulterated heaviness performed as in the first person, is effectively creepy. Don’t listen alone!
