Description

Cirkus was an 80s glam metal band from Salt Lake City, Utah. Formed in September of 1985 by two schoolmates. The band toured and wrote tracks and by the end of 1987 the band finally felt they were ready to take the next step, to record their debut album. Cirkus began recording the album that would be titled Who Do You Do in Winter 1987/88 at Musician’s Choice Studio with Chuck Cohagen engineering and Troy producing. Twelve songs were tracked, mixed and mastered by Summer, and the album was released at a packed show at The Speedway Cafe (where the band had become a top local draw and favorite) on 8-8-88. The cassette sold well, with several songs getting regular airplay on Z-ROCK, a groundbreaking and popular hard rock radio station. The band continued, playing often and building it’s following, but after years of frustration at being unable to get to the next step of becoming a national band, they slowly dissolved and by the summer of 1990 the band were no more. In 1991 the band were asked about material for a compilation album for their favorite local Utah radio station. This got the band back together and they recorded two old previously unreleased tracks. In 2002 the band finally did a reunion live show and has since they continued to play live. This album features the original 1988 album as well as bonus tracks including the two tracks the band re-recorded in 1991.
