Novell och skämttidningen Cocktail (short stories and joke magazine) originally started in Sweden back in 1934. At the beginning it was a weekly newspaper with a focus on scandals from the entertainment and financial worlds. In 1941 it was merged with the magazine Parisien (started in 1930). The magazine became a distinctly sex magazine with the title Cocktail Parisien. From 1942 it was simply called Cocktail, and under this name it was published in Sweden until 1974. The magazine was based at different locations in Stockholm. At one time at Brunkebergstorg and later at Torsgatan. Responsible for this magazine was most likely Olof Nylin, who had published erotic literature in Sweden since the 1930s. The magazine features nude photographs of women, jokes and sex stories. Very soft today but was considered very daring and scandalous back in the 40s
