Anyone that makes a cover of a Quartz track gets my attention immediately. Dagger from Sweden is a band that should be warmly welcomed by all fans of true metal. The members involved here are certainly no newcomers. Jani Kataja (Mangrove, Sideburn) on vocals, David Blomqvist (Carnage, Dismember) on guitars, Tobias Cristiansson (Grave, Dismember) on bass and and Fred Estby (Necronaut, Dismember) on drums. By judging the line-up it might fool you that its another extreme metal release but the Daggers play straight-forward, no-frills hard rock/heavy metal. The Quartz track on the A-side is a killer version and the demo track on the B-side definitely makes me waiting for this bands debut album. The old-school charm in the layout and logo is great, adding more appeal to the release. Second guitar on the demo track is performed by Erik Tyrant Gustavsson from Nifelheim. Definitely a must have single
