The Dutch cult act Dark Wizard was formed in Vroomshoop back in 1983. After some demos the band signed a deal with Mausoleum records and released their debut, which was the Devils Victim EP in 1984. A cult metal album which is dark and occult and still very catchy. Dark Wizard had a lot of Motorhead and NWOBHM influences. The full length album Reign Of Evil followed a year later and then it would take another33 year before the world would get another Dark Wizard album. Dark Wizard was around already in the late 70s but peformed under severail different names before setting for Dark Wizard. The Early Spells album features a lot of demo and recording session material from their first year under their new name. 15 tracks and a running time of nearly 70 minutes makes this a must have for fans of Dark Wizard and European 80s metal need to get this.
