David Wilhelmson, or Dave Rock as he wants to be called, hails from a small town in Varmland, Sweden. At the age of fourteen he bought his first electric guitar from an older friend for $30 dollars. -It was a very bad guitar and it went out of tune all the time but it was a start. Dave practiced every day for hours and started to write his own songs. A couple of months later he joined his first band, Remorse, a band that was a mix between punk and thrash metal. But it was when the band Beda, were Dave was guitarist and singer, broke up in 2003 that he decided to go solo. He released his debut album, Life In Freedom, in 2006. This is an album chock full of 80’s rock riffs and traditional metal lyrics and you can hear that he has put his heart and soul into the project. This is a fine debut album where you hear lots of 80s influences from anything between Kiss and Judas Priest to The Pretenders.
