Description
D.C. Lacroix was an American female fronted heavy metal band. Sylvie Lacroix was born in Montreal, Canada but moved to Seattle at an early age. She studied acting at a drama school. A friend had told Sylvie that she knew a band that were looking for a singer and rhythm guitarist and Sylvies passion for music lead up to a meeting with Dan Christopherson and the band was Jetzens who in 1983 turned into D.C. Lacroix. The band struggled for a couple of years trying to find a record label when the were contacted by New Renaissance records from Los Angeles that asked if they wanted to participated on the compilation album ‘Lady Killers’. The band thought their future record label were in Los Angeles so they packed their bags and moved there and upon arrival they were contacted by the French label Black Dragon who wanted to release a full length album and that’s how ‘Crack Of Doom’ was born. ‘Crack Of Doom’ sold well and the band were contacted by Enigma/Relentless records sub label Medusa that released the follow up album ‘Livin By The Sword’ in 1988 and they also released the debut album for the American market. Both Dan and Sylvie are still musically active. Dan have released a full length instrumental guitar cd and Sylvie is busy playing in an all girl cover band called ‘The UnderCoverGirls’ who are much in demand in the Los Angeles area and they sometimes play the Nancy Sinatra track ‘These Boots Are Made For Walking’ that D.C.
