Dead Letter Circus, an Australian alternative rock band with a progressive rock style founded in Brisbane in 2005, made their smash hit album debut with This Is The Warning in 2010. And when their third album Aesthesis was released in 2015 it peaked at number two on the Australian album charts. So by then the band thought it was a good time to go back and re-visit old material. They made some fresh and newly recorded arrangements of all 6 songs from their self titled 2007 debut EP, 3 tracks from This Is The Warning and 2 songs from Aesthesis and the end result can be found here on The Endless Mile. This album is a true re-imagining of many of their songs. Yes, they tend to be more acoustic than the originals, but that term alone fails to describe how outstanding the new arrangements are – they didn’t simply swap out their electric guitars for acoustic ones, press record, and call it good. The music styles they employ vary from track to track. It’s like listening to them all for the first time. This should be a very welcome addition to any Dead Letter Circus collection.
