2014 press of this lost 1987 album comes with a 16-page booklet, liner notes, album story, photos and lyrics

A Quebec band in the early 80’s metal style. They were founded in 1980 in Quebeck and bassist Jean Fortin (a.k.a. J.P. Forsyth) had briefly occupied the same position in an early version of Voivod. Deaf Dealer were first heard on the ‘Metal Massacre IV’ compilation. In 1986 the band released their debut, ‘Keeper of the Flame’. In the UK this record surfaced on the indie label Neat Records. The debut release was produced by Michael Meese. The debut had major label distribution, advertising and push in Canada but didn’t sell as the label had hoped. Many critics accused them for being Iron Maiden clones. There second recorded album ‘Journey In To Fear’ was never released back when it was recorded in 1987 at the world-famous Toronto studio Metalworks with Dan Johnson and Scott Burns as producers, but for various reasons was never officially made available. “Journey Into Fear” features the distinctive bass playing of bass virtuoso Jean-Pierre Fortin, coupled with great guitar lines by Marc “Hayward” Brassard and Yves “Ian Penn” Pedneault along with classic vocal lines by Michel “Flynn” Lalonde. Combined with way-ahead-of-its-time power drumming by Dan “Mc Gregor” Gregoire, the effort definitely deserves a spot among the greatest heavy metal creations of the ’80s.
