Before Death SS, Italian cult presided in much of the movies, and in avant-garde surreal progressive rock (with highlights such as Jacula/Antonius Rex and Goblin). And until Death SS came about, highly influenced by acts such as Alice Cooper and Black Widow, no bands were playing heavy metal in Italy, much less in the satanic sort of way in which Death SS do. The popularity of the band growth with each album and at the time of their third album Heavy Demons its seems like they are ready to export the band outside Italy. The band signs to Contempo records and get the expert producer from the German label Noise, Sven Conquest do the album Heavy Demons. However things dont work out to well with their band name outside of Italy. The European distributors conspire against the band and reject them. The reason is that their mistakenly associate it with the contemporary neo-nazi movement. Steve is forced to rebaptize the band, Sylvester’s Death to avoid any possible connection, and under this moniker they issued the live album The Cursed Concert that suspends the recording activity of the band in ’92. The problems however continues and Steve Sylvester starts to work on his first solo album Free Man and puts Death SS on hold for a short while
