Descending was founded in Athens, Greece back in 2007 with the goal to created some uncompromising thrash / death metal that would combine all the modern elements of metal music. From Children Of Bodom, Trivium and Soilwork up to more old school bands like At The Gates and Exodus. Their debut album Enter Annihilaton was released a year later and it’s immediately clear that we are dealing with some great musicians on their instruments. The vocalist is a bit monotone but on the third track we are treated with a clear voice too which brings it up a notch. The songs are well structured but the album lacks a bit of originality. Its not bad when you choose to borrow elements from such great acts but in the end you have to have some sort of originality and not sounding like a cover band. I havent heard the band’s second album so im not sure if they were fast to improve or not. If you like mentioned bands then you can try this one too
