Desecration were, among Hydra (later Aydra) and Sadist, one of the bands that were laying the foundations to the Italian death metal scene. The band first came to notice thanks to the rough-around-the-edges and quite messy Abandon All Hope demo which came as an overtly enthusiastic mix of Possessed’s and Messiah’s debuts, an intense death/thrash conglomerate that left quite a bit to be desired both from the execution and the production department. Two years later saw the release of the bands cd ep, The Valley Of Eternal Suffering. By then it was a totally different story as this release saw the band making major improvement in every conceivable aspect, the band having outgrown their thrash roots, unlike the other mentioned bands, producing arguably the first genuine official death metal recording on Italian soil. Another two track demo followed in 1995. Still death metal but not as technical as before. The band then changed name to D-form and released one more EP before calling it a day.The band has now received a cult status in Italy and their one and only cd has become a sought after release among death metal colletors. This 30th anniverary edition vinyl features their debut album, 3 tracks from their debut demo and 1 track from their second and final demo.
