Very rare original Adipocere records release Diabolical Masquerade was the solo-project launched by Katatonia mastermind Anders ‘Blackheim’ Nyström. Diabolical Masquerade was based primarily around symphonic/melodic black metal as the albums progressed; creating eerie atmospheres through keyboards and utilizing more high energy and technical compositions than those of his main band, with complex patterns of riffs and hooks. ‘The Phantom Lodge’ was the second of four albums and it was originally released in 1997 by Adipocere records. ‘The Phantom Lodge’ was a natural progression from debut album ‘Ravendusk in my Heart’; delving further into the realm of experimentation of ideas and atmospherics.
