Mega rare Thunderbolt/Magnum Music Group cd release 15 years after the release of the first Iron Maiden album the two original Iron Maiden men Paul Dianno and Dennis Stratton went into the studio to record a bunch of songs. Most of the songs recorded were written by producer and ex Fastway member Lea Hart. The material from these sessions has been released as The Original Iron Men 1, The Original Iron Men 2, Hard As Iron or As Hard As Iron. Theres no real information about whos doing who on theese recordings. Tons of British stars were adding their talent in the studio. Some of the musicians besides Dianno And Stratton who are said to have participated on one or more songs are Fast Eddie Clarke (Fastway/Motorhead), Kim McAulliffe (Girlschool), Paul Samson (Samson), Don Airey (Rainbow/Whitesnake), Nigel Glocker (Saxon), Neil Murray (Black Sabbath/Whitesnake), Lea Hart (Fastway), Ray Callcut (Paul Dianno band), Tim Nibbs Carter (Saxon), Jem Davis (FM), Gary Ferguson (Geezer Butler band) are some of the names mentioned on different sites. Even Dougie White (Rainbow/MSG/Tank) and Biff Byford are said to have participated on background vocals. There is no misstaking the hard grinding, clear vocals of Paul Dianno who sings on four of the tracks on this album nor, indeed, those of Dennis Stratton who sings on six tracks as well as lead guitar.
