It is often said that boredom is the best source of creativity, in such cases Norrkoping must be Sweden’s most boring city as creativity has exploded recently. Norrkoping’s sons in Din Skevf’s debut album Man Måste Vara Galen För Att Kunna Va Normal (You have to br crazy to be normal). This 8-song story reflects the classic working-class values of drowning your sorrows in beer and hating your job. Its been a long time since melodic hardcore in Swedish sounded as interesting as it does here. The record has a clear melodic basis with a focus on sing-along choruses, groovy bass lines and with a primitive 80s-scented guitar torture.Singer Oscar Rahm develops the personal and closeness to their existence and how their lives oscillate between hope and desperation. The album was recorded over 3 days in HoboRec Studio, Jönköping with Ulf Blomberg behind the controls. Din Skevf debuted in the autumn 2011 with a six-song vinyl EP called Balla Ur. The record was well received by both reviewers and vinyl geeks, within a couple of months the first pressing was sold out and the EP was mentioned in both Close-Up and Lukenzine best-of-the-year lists of 2011.
