Dio´s second full length release is not very different form the previous one (Holy Diver) except for one thing, it is overall a bit faster. Holy Diver was generally more mid paced but in this release fast riffs abound (We Rock, Evil Eyes, I Speed At Night, etc) and the drumming is also really fast and pounding. This album has a lot of pace changes, dynamics, melody and epic parts to spare, and it shows all those things in a really coherent and structured way. Most of the tunes are pretty nice and interesting but Dio´s voice is what elevates these songs to the next level. His voice adds an extra degree of class and harmony to the actual songs that no one could have given to them. One of the greatest albums ever recorded by Dio. So, what are you waiting for?
