2024 release on electric blue vinyl
Dismember have always been the band symbolizing an uncompromising spirit of the Scandinavian brutality when it came to playing death metal. They were the band to beat when it came to that tormented Swedish tone and that trademark chainsaw guitar sound. Ttheir debut album, Like An Everflowing Stream, is one of the finest grinding opus of true insanity and all-out violence in its most disgusting and gory form and one of the best death metal recordings ever done. This five track EP was originally released back in 1997 and what we saw here was a band that had progressed and tried to ad some melody to their gory music. Its not melodic death metal and it still has the old school tone with some nasty and crusty riffs but it still managed to sound more melodic and catchy than the bands earlier efforts but like I said, without treading into the Gothenburg territory. Matti Karki shouts more than he growls on this release but they do deliver when it comes to their cover of Autopsy’s Pagan Saviour. Thats the track that is the closet to early Dismember and its loud and gory. A beautiful cover overall
