Description
The band Downhell is a turning point of Korean metal. This is classic heavy metal influenced by Judas Priest, Halford, and Fight. There have been this kind of music in Korea before in the 80s, which was the golden era of heavy metal but not many bands have survived that period. Korea are at the moment full of metalcore bands so its nice to finally find a band that have gone back to the roots of metal. Downhell started as Thrill Kill in 2000 but it was renamned in 2002 to Downhell. After two successful tours the first with Skyfire and then in 2004 with Dark Tranquillity it was time to release the debut album. 'At The End Of Death' was recorded and mixed by Cho Sang-hyun at Mol Studios, known as the ultimate Mecca of the Korean hardcore/punk/metal scene. The final 10 tracks were mastered by Alan Douches critically known as the world's best metal/hardcore engineer for his work with Shadows Fall, God Forbid and Mastodon. Every song on the album has been armed with a strong and simple hook gushing masculine energy as a classic metal band. Solos by Alex and Beshas in tracks like 'Doppleganger' and 'No Pain No Gain’ will remind you of Judas Priest, Primal Fear, Iced Earth and Testament. This is a band that has the skills to back up the metal passion. Track listing: 1. Electric Soul Part 1 2. Electric Soul Part 2 3. Eui 4. Doppleganger 5. No Pain, No Gain 6. Crying Stranger 7.
