Truly a difficult album for Dritte Wahl, because in mid-January 2005, while working on this album, longtime bassist and friend Marko Busch’n Busch succumbed to cancer after eighteen years together. But a breakup of the band due to this stroke of fate was out of the question and would have been – in my opinion – a crude and inexcusable disrespect towards the deceased. So this punk rock act from Rostock got their acts together and delivered yet another album that mixes everything from punk rock to hardcore and metal. You also have tracks such as the wonderfully satirical Rastermann, which comes along in reggae style, or Wir Kaufen Uns Ein Kleines Stuck, who includes some German rap, that in my opinion is one of the few let downs on this disc. Otherwise we have all the stuff we love about this band with their political lyrics and any fan of the of the group is guaranteed not to be disappointed with Fortschritt.
