Description
Driveshaft was a hard rock band formed in County Cork Ireland in the early 1980’s by singer/guitarist Gerry Lane. Driveshaft was one of the top three hard rock bands working and touring in Ireland in the early 1980’s. They toured extensively around Ireland and England and landed some major support slots with the likes of Rory Gallagher, ZZ Top, Def Leppard, Saxon, Grand Slam and Micheal Schenker. Gerry Lane then moved to England where he went on to work with Gary Moore, Cozy Powell and Neil Murray. Their singles are all of them hard to find and NWOBHM fans seems willing to pay huge money when a copy finally change hands. This has helped the band gaining a cult status in the genre even though they sound more like classic style of hard rock in the vein of Whitesnake and Rainbow then pure UK metal. But the NWOBHM genre has always been wide in musical style. Now for the first time we an enjoy the singles and the unreleased London Demos session on one album. Nwobhm completists check this out
