Of Shadow And Flame is an epic folk / melodic death metal album with black metal influences. This b and from Matawan in New Jersey have been pushing boundaries of the genre with their unique blend of atmosphere, melodic death metal and folk elements. Formed in 2012, the band quickly gained recognition for their enthralling soundscapes, blending haunting melodies with ferocious, thunderous riffs. The folk elements from the first album have been toned down somewhat for a more atmospheric feel and more black metal influences, from the likes of Moonsorrow and Saor, while still retaining the epic structures found on the debut. Add to that the slight progressive leanings; melodic structures and the lead guitar progressions, hinting of a Shylmagoghnar likeness. For fans of soaring guitar melodies, melodic death metal rasps, vast keyboards, and epic drums.
