Kingdom Of Madness is a decent debut album which shows the talent of the band, but isn’t really a great album. The songs are all uniformly prolix (almost all over 5 minutes), but not all of them feature enough hooks and personality to be recommendable. “Wings Of A Dream” seems written replicating Helloween’s “Eagle Fly Free”, while “When A Hero Cries” is a shorter piano-driven ballad that’s more suited to a Foreigner or REO Speedwagon album than here: paradoxically, the closing 18-minutes multi-part suite “The Kingdom” doesn’t feel boring, thanks to its wise arrangements and well-placed repetitions and this is the track that exemplifies the band’s vision. Fans may want to discover where did the band started, but inevitably, their future albums are so much better than this
