White Smoke And Pines from Ellen Sundberg was recorded in two weeks at Israel Nash’s ranch in Hill County outside of Austin, Texas, and is an uncompromising interpretation of Ellen’s songs and artistry. This is her second full-length album and follows her widely acclaimed debut 2013 ‘Black Raven’ release. The recording was made by the Grammy-winning engineer Ted Young (Rolling Stones, Kurt Vile, Israel Nash and others). And Ellen Sundberg came with a hefty bundle of strong original songs. The album is very much an Ellen Sundberg Original. The songs have Ellen’s typical hallmark with a monotonous stubborn pace and sound colouring pages and feelings rather than the melodies that fill out. Without noticing it moves you into Ellen’s universe. Once there, revealed suddenly the words and melodies like a picture of Ellen’s unique personality.
