Description

1998 picture disc release. Limited 500 copies

The classic full length debut from Emperor. Originally released in 1994 this album thrust Emperor onto an unsuspecting public who had never heard music like this before. The band became the No1 underground cult act on it’s release aided by the most striking album artwork the scene had seen. This album is now seen alongside Slayer’s “Reign In Blood” and Venom’s “Black Metal” as definitive masterpieces of our time. This was the last album to feature drumming legend Faust who was then replaced by Trym. “In the Nightside Eclipse” includes edited material from a live show in Oslo for the song “Towards the Pantheon,” as well as various other clips from live recordings in 1997 plus two bonus tracks; “A Fine Day to Die” (Bathory cover) and “Gypsy” (Merciful Fate cover) Emperor formed in 1991. Their recordings have sold in excess of 600,000 units Worldwide and their impact on the whole black/extreme metal scene is second to none. They are without doubt one of the most influential acts in any genre, respected the world over by fans, bands and critics alike.
