Originally released in 1993 as half of the Emperor / Enslaved split which has since gone on to become a piece of historically important black metal that helped define a whole genre. Since these humble beginnings Enslaved have gone from strength to strength. The Hordanes Land poem was written by Ivar Bjørnson and evokes the cross-over between History, Tolkien-influence and Norse mythology that was behind this iconic mini-album. The bonus track, Enslaved, comes from the Enslaved and Satyricon split album. The album comes with an new illustration by Bergen-based artist Jannicke Wiese-Hansen Art And Tattoos and a unique poem created or commissioned by the artists.
