Mere Contemplations is Enslavement Of Beauty’s third full length album and it sounds like a crossing of the two previous albums. Symphonic black metal with an almost poetic beauty to it. More Contemplations sounds a bit more guitar-oriented than the earlier albums and overall its the bands most accomplished album to date. Tony Tunheim has a unique ability to create songs with a stunningly soaring atmosphere and tasteful arrangements and Ole Myrholts voice fits the music perfectly. For some reason, Enslavement Of Beauty has never received the recognition they deserve, which is a shame as they are among the top of the Norwegian music division. Mere Contemplations is a gem of an album, its so enjoyable and one of the most melodic and beautiful extreme metal albums out there.
