In late 84 and early 85 Clapton went through some touch times in his troubled marriage with Pattie Boyd. And this became the subject matter for most of his original material. While recording the Behind The Sun album Clapton temporarily split with his wife. The track Shes Waiting is about how Clapton felt his wife Pattie was waiting for someone better to come along. During the recording of the album Boyd left Clapton and it was soon decided that the couple would go through a separation. Phil Collins produced this song and played the snare drum that comes in at the end.
