The history of the Brazilian act Exorcismo dates back to 2004 when they performed under the name of Morgue. During their three years in existence the band only released one demo. When it was time for their second demo, Ultima Batalha, in 2008 the band decided to change name as they had undergone several line-up changes since their first years. Most people thought the band were over but ten years later a full length album, Exorcise And Steal, showed up, surprisingly. The band stays true to their country’s old roots and opts for a sound that drifts heavily towards an early Sepultura style of aggression with frothing vocal chops, and nifty, surging chunkiness in the riffs and bass. There’s always been an abundance of quality within the South American scene; the underground channels filtered so many great bands through in the 80s, and this surge continues. So if you love the South American style than you can buy this and enjoy a 45 minute trip of gang chants, thrash all within the South American lo-fi framework.
