Swedens progressive rockers Rhapsody was founded as a quartet in Vara, Lidkoping comprising vocalist Benny Ahlkvist, guitarist Kjell-Ake Noren, bassist Rudolf Janszky and Torbjorn Persson on drums during 1974. In 1977 the band was joined by Peter Ahs in the keyboard role and the band released a self titled album on Tyfon records in 1978. Rhapsody split up in 1980 and keyboard player Peter Ahs and drummer Torbjorn Persson formed the symphonic rock act Extasy The line-up was completed by Lars Hallback on guitar, Mikael Andersson on bass and Jorgen Andersson on piano. Extasys one and only album was recorded in Musikstudion in Skovde in 1980. The album was released in 1983 on the small Artist records (yes the same label that released the Warrior album with Trouble). Three tracks are performed in Swedish but its the English tracks that really stands out. If youre into melodic hardrock, AOR/pomp music then you should check this one out. Rare and hard to find
