Description

Fates Warning has weathered nearly two decades of shifting musical trends with a steadfast fan base. Operating for many years below the trend radar, the group has nonetheless resolutely generated a commendable and ever strengthening catalogue of work, which finally broke into widespread recognition. The Hartford, Connecticut band was initially titled Misfit in their original formation in 1982 but changed their name the year after. A couple of demos in 1984 enabled the band to include a track on the 'Metal Massacre V' compilation album and the resulting appreciation resulting in a long term deal with Metal Blade records. 'Disconnected' arrived in July 2000. By this time the band had gained a a large following of new fans that prefered their later progessive metal albums. Many saw the new Fates Warning with Kevin Moore in the band as the best line up of the band. A Pleasant Shade Of Grey were hailed a stunning masterpiece and he certainly left his mark on this album too before he left. Disconnected starts and ends with a spoken sentence I think we're disconnected. Then kicking off with One, a mixture of progressive metal with techno-elements that sounds like nothing they have ever done in the past. Then for track 3 it sounds more like the newer Fates Warning were used to. Should please any Dream Theater or Progg metal fan. With Mark Zonder from Warlord and Joey Vera from Armored Saint. Track listing: 1. Disconnected Part I 2. One 3. So 4. Pieces Of Me 5. Something From Nothing 6. Still Remains 7. Disconnected Part II
