Description
Death metal act Faust was founded in Milan during 1992 by vocalist / guitarist Aleister Demon. Following issue of a self titled 1993 demo and live work into 1994 the band membership had splintered, leaving only Aleister Demon remaining. As a solo effort, he cut the track ‘Purity Of Evil’ for inclusion on the compilation album ‘Screams From Italy’. By October of 1998 a full band line up had once again been assembled FAUST resumed gigging. Recordings for an EP, entitled ‘…And Finally – Faust!’, were crafted in December of 1999 but early the following year Aleister Demon ejected all of his band members once again. In May of 2000 he would be joined by guitarist Ghiulz of Obscurity and Profanatum and the EP finally saw issue in March of 2001. That October Aleister Demon enrolled into the ranks of fabled Norwegian black metal band Ancient. In 2006 Faust were ready to record the songs for their debut album. Just before it, the bassist and drummer left the band. Aleister and Ghiulz manages to get the following impressive line-up for the album: Dariusz Brzozowski (Vader/Dimmu Borgir) on drums. Luca Princiotta (Doro/Blaze Bayley) on guitar and none other than Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus/Death/Testament/Iced Earth) on bass. The album was mixed and mastered at the Trident Studios in California and fans of technical death metal should keep their eyes open for ‘From Glory To Infinity’.
