Pink vinyl

A compilation album with artists from Soderhamn in Sweden, put together by a local educational organization (ABF (Arbetarnas Bildningsförbund)). All tracks were recorded and mixed at Studio Borg in Soderhamn between January and June 1987. The album starts with Red Light which is a new wave/indie rock act that went on and released a vinyl single the year after. Next comes Garbagemen featuring Nik Bone and Pretty Vacant and this duo performs some alternative rock/experimental goth rock. The B-side starts with three tracks from Pure Mania. This Soderhamns act would go on and release several singles and albums. This is a band that can perform anything from pure punk and post-punk to glam, sleaze and hardrock on their albums. Last out is a pure heavy metal act by the name of Virgin. The first two tracks are really strong with good speed etc. The last track Hotel Rendevouz shows a bit weaker vocals but still a song with huge potential. I havent been able to trace anything else with Virgin which is a shame because these first three tracks shows that they were onto something. Would have been fun to have explored more
