Description
Foxy Roxx was a San Diego-based glam band formed in 1989. On the band’s 1993 demo the vocalist was Dennis (Sinned) Fredenberg. Between the band’s 1993 demo and their debut album Shake The Foundation in 1995, Dennis sadly passed away at the age of just 19 from Leukemia. At that point drummer Tony Starlin took over on lead vocals and kept the band going for a few more years. Building on the success of 1995’s Shake The Foundation album, Foxy Roxx decided to record a follow up. Dubbed Mixed Up World by the band, and recorded mostly in 1996, the album featured eleven Foxy Roxx originals along with three cover tunes (Kiss Talk to Me, Twister Sister‘s We’re Not Gonna Take It and Keep On from The Brady Bunch). However, just about the time people started getting very excited about the album’s pending release, Foxy Roxx suddenly, and without any warning or explanation, disappeared. While a few promotional cd-r copies of the new album were burned for friends of the band, the album never received a proper release. On the shelving of Mixed Up World, Tony states, There was just too much frustration that had built up for me with most of the other guys and it just stopped being fun for me. There were times I felt more like a babysitter. It just stopped being a team effort, so I didn’t see the point in continuing. The last show we played was with Tuff down in Reseda at FM Station I think. Now we can all enjoy the unreleased 1997 album Mixed Up World
