Swedish chiptune musician Dubmood (real name Kalle Jonnson) has released several album together with with vocalist Gem Tos. On Machine, the two contemplated on the feelings and bonds between humans and technology. On the follow up, Force De Frappe, those relations were studied even further and in concept of nuclear conflict and mutual total destruction. Then when Dubmood released Overshoot Days it was a continuation of this story line exploring themes of overreach, depletion of resources and departure. to face the decision of to stay or to leave, to change or decay, and the consequences for what is left behind. At the same time Gem Tos released the Overshoot Days The Compendium as an extension to the original narrative of Dubmoods The Overshoot Days album, to show that every story has more than one side. To have Dubmoods album and to get this re-imagining of the Overshoot story by Gem Tos makes the combined experience just unimaginably brilliant. That however doesnt mean that it isnt a highly enjoyable album as a standalone work, too. When it comes to Dubmood and Gem Tos then expect the unexpected.
