On the 1st of August 1980 Firars Aylesbury managed to present a one off gig with Gillan, at the time every town in Britain would have liked but only Aylesbury managed to get. Gillan had just released Glory Road, which was a best selling album and Deepest Purple had also just been released and that was also a phenomenal success when it went straight to the top in July  of 1980. So the interest in Gillan had never been stronger. Opening act for the night was the two NWOBHM acts White Spirit and Chevy. Gillan was at the time John McCoy (bass), Bernie Torme (guitar), Mick Underwood (drums) and Colin Towns (keys). Gillan performed several tracks from the new album Unchain Your Brain, Are You Sure, Sleeping On The Job and the new single from the album No Easy Way. You will also here Smoke On The Water as well as some birthday celebration as Gillan celebrated his 35th birthday just two days prior to the show. The Japanese collectors has always been crazy about anything regarding the Rainbow and Deep Purple family so its no wonder they managed to get hold of a soundboard recording of this show and got this album released in Japan only.
