2019 release on black vinyl with printed innersleeve

A Witness To The Regicide was originally released as a 7”ep back in 1996 and this album includes all 4 tracks recorfded during that session at Crucifier Studios in Pennsylvania, USA on November 3, 1996. Only two songs made it onto the 7 EP. The music is unmistakenly Grand Belials Key, fast aggressive black metal with strong old school death/thrash metal influences. Their early material lacked in production and are a kind of muffled, like if it was recorded on a 4-track recorder with only one mic for the drums. It reminds me of early Entombed demos.The bass is as loud as the guitar, with a lot of low end. I think it should have been quieter in the mix, though it’s very well executed – it’s kind of melodic sometimes, like in early Mortuary Drape. As a whole, this EP is worth listening and representative of the band’s promising beginning. It clearly shows their early potential but are far from their signature release, Judeobeast Assassination.
