Swedish death metal assembly, Grand Cadaver features Dark Tranquillity’s Mikael Stanne on vocals but the rest of the band are no slouches either, drawing experience from their time in bands like Disrupted, Pagandom, Expulsion and even Katatonia to give us plenty of iconic Swedish influence. This is a band that never even planned to release a full-length album, and then in August of 2023 they already delivered their second opus, Deities of Deathlike Sleep. The album was conceived and recorded with the same mindset and the same team as their debut, keeping it quick, spontaneous and enjoyable. This time it turned out a bit more dynamic, with the pummeling fury interspersed with some doom, gloom and darkness. But still, it’s simply ten tracks of Swedish Fucking Death Metal, the way we all love it
